Craig Vye Talks About His Exit

Craig Vye tweeted a heartfelt farewell message to all the Hollyoaks fans this morning after he made his final appearance as love-rat detective Ethan Scott during Monday's show. His exit saw Ethan turn himself in for the hit-and-run he was involved in a few weeks back when he knocked down student Rob (played by David Atkins).

On his exit Vye left this message;
"Morning Tweeps....in response to all your tweets, I'm afraid to say that Ethan has left Hollyoaks. I feel very sad, I love the show & every1 involved. I wanna thank all @ Lime Pictures & @Hollyoaks for an amazing year. I will never forget my time on the show. It's the best job ever. I believe there was a lot more to explore with Ethan & the door is always open in my mind, but it was just my time to move on."
"I wanna say a massive massive thank you to all my followers and supporters, you've been incredible & you've made me feel really valued. X"
"I have BIG love for all of u who have followed me over this journey & watch this space because there will be some exciting stuff coming up for me next year! Thanx for all of your kind messages & tweets. Don't forget to let @Hollyoaks know how you felt about Ethan & his exit!"
"Most of all I'm gonna miss my lovely friends at Lime Pictures, the staff, the cast & the crew. You guys & Liverpool rock. X"

Casting: Carly Stenson Returns

For all those long time Hollyoaks fans who have been missing a certain fame obsessed character over the last year you're about to get an extra Christmas gift, as it has been announced that Carley Stenson is to reprise her role as Steph Roach for a one-off episode.

Stenson departed from the show last year after 10 years when the character of Steph who was suffering from cervical cancer tragically died in the fire at Il Nosh. Since then she has found a new home in the West End in the musical version of Legally Blonde.

The details released regarding her return storyline have revealed that is will involve the character of Doug (played by P J Brennan) as he finds himself alone and in a dark place at Christmas. This leads him to a dangerous situation a she finds himself on the edge of a bridge, and later awakes to the vision of an angelic Steph. Having found himself in a state of depression since the murder of his girlfriend Becs (played by Daisy Turner) at the hands of serial-killer Silas Blissett (played by Jeff Rawle), Doug starts to question him impact on the village. From this Steph takes it upon herself to show him how his presence in has helped the lives of several people.

On her return Stenson told MSN,
"Strangely, it didn't feel weird because I had been there for ten years, so it felt like I was doing something I had always been doing. Like I had just blinked the year away. It felt really normal,"
"It was a nice, unexpected surprise. I had died so I really didn't think I would be coming back - but I guess there is nothing that Hollyoaks can't do,"
"I was happy to go back, but I didn't want it to be a bit of a farce. But I liked the story and how it channels It's A Wonderful Life and A Christmas Carol. It's quite sweet, and it's Christmas as well!"
Stenson's one-off return appearance in a Doug centric episode is due to air on Monday 26th December at 6.30pm on Channel 4.

Podcast: An Update On The HCP

As I said in my welcome post I am hoping to do a weekly podcast to coincide with this blog and so far I have recorded two podcast one which gives an idea of the structure the podcast will take and, one which is a full podcast for the week of the 28th November - 2nd December 2011. These will hopefully be posted soon, I'm just currently editing them and giving them some touch ups into a form that will then continue as the podcast goes on.

On a side note it really is strange doing the podcast especially, considering I don't really like the sound of my own voice (lol). But it is quite a treat as it gives me an extra way to appreciate one of my all time favourite shows.
